4 October 2019 - Diet Diary - I am so far holding my own, right around my original goal of 140, + or - half pound from day to day. Trying to get some things done and mood has not been real great lately. Find myself living with a sense of impending doom lately and sadly (terrifyingly) I don't know that it is "all in my head". Really would like to run off into the "outback" and disappear. That lighthouse keeper job I used to wish for sure sounds good but might be dangerous. Well, enough of my paranoia. Is it?

Eating has gone OK but recent blood panel shows still low in iron and high on inflammatory markers. Checked out my daily eating patterns and I am chronically low on protein and iron intake so need to focus a bit more on including more iron & protein rich foods. Doing some reading on good/best sources and figuring what will be easiest to add and most likely to be maintained as part of my diet. I'm not a vegan/vegetarian but I do eat a fairly limited amount of meat most of the time so more plant sources will need to be added as well.

Protein. Something us seniors don't get enough of...Not sure why...but do consider buying that big container of protein powder or a few sets of those small but potent high protein drinks.

I may look into that. When I was " larger" and ate significantly more food daily, I was likely getting more protein and iron just because of the sheer volume of food I was consuming. Now, with containing my calorie intake most days, I am not getting enough of either. Do the protein powders/ drinks come fortified with iron as well?

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
