Feral blackberry canes growing in our strawberry beds. Again, I thank the fauna for planting these. I'll move them in the fall to a blackberry patch we're developing out beyond our habitat garden:

The local fauna are better gardeners than I am. Every year, this small corner of our yard grows like this. Sunflowers, hyacinth vine, tomato plant. All obvious annuals and never planted by me.

We should make a goal of planting a tree for every person in our family. On your land if you have it, or donating somewhere that will plant the trees. If Ethiopia can do it, we sure can.

Sometimes I think that it is a good idea to make a splash in your garden by putting all your eggs in one basket, like this garden filled with lavender, I saw in Derbyshire yesterday. Or sometimes Primula, Inula, and Campanula make a blend ?

I need suggestions for a low growing ground cover. One that will take full sun and live in heavy clay soil. And one that's not invasive. Suggestions? It's going to bank hemp fields. And needs to cover several large areas. I was thinking maybe short ...

Shade border garden. Strawberries planted for groundcover. Produced small, but EXTREMELY flavorful berries. Great as additions to Linda's jam making efforts.

I've started on my patio and plantings. Still have plants to buy and plant but this is what I'm starting with. I can't cover the water meter lids so it's small but it's enough for me and a guest. I'm going to trim it with red pavers. The big pot ...

Currently 90° with a heat index of 95°. I'm relaxing on the verandah with a glass of Chardonnay. The heat brings out numerous wonderful creatures. I think this is an Admiral. Maybe @leafhead can confirm:
