Spring 2018

Gentiana

Creeping phlox
Dicentra formosa, bleeding heart

Alpine columbine
Dicentra spectabilis, bleeding heart
Ayssum, basket of gold

The last two photos were taken a week apart.
In a world full of flowers I mix them up sometimes. So if I do please let me know.
I believe the old fashion bleeding heart is Dicentra Formosa but could be wrong.

I remember growing Bleeding Hearts when I was in Washington State. I called it a "liberal plant." That pissed my ex off 🙂 And yes, Bleeding Hearts is Dicentra Formosa. I love it!

@HippieChick58
Wow! Plants are what you want them to be and if they piss you off maybe you shouldn't be around them. Now your ex can piss someone else off with bleeding hearts.

Beautiful!

Thank you. I like sharing flowers.

My bleeding heart grows under a small evergreen and is about thiirty years old. I am always so grateful to see the pretty pink and white flowers returning every year.

@Spinliesel
We have the Formosa bleeding heart in several places. It can grow anywhere. The white one spreads much slower. Every garden needs a bleeding heart or two.

What a pretty blue.

It's one of my top ten flowers, thank you. Our patch is only a square foot in ten years. Very slow to spread and the flowers last about two weeks. I look forward to this one faithfully and grateful for all my flowers.
