Whew. 4.5 hours to clean up, edge, weed, manure, and mulch the asparagus bed. Think I'll postpone a hike through the woods until tomorrow, if I can move. Where's the Chardonnay? ???

I am so pleased with this latest blast of arctic air rolling though that has kept me from getting any planting done. If there's one thing I like it's not being able to enjoy the fruits of my labors until just before the first freeze.

Picked my first tomato of the season today! I can taste it in my mind already. In as week or two I will be flooded with loads of delicious black heirloom tomatoes. I always look forward to this event.

Most of the front is done! My new little darling shrub (closest to camera) is Pearly Twirly Helwingia, and from the center of willowy 1/2” wide leaves sprout the itty bitty double blossoms!!

I Removed my big lemongrass from its original spot (it was overwhelming my dwarf roses). I started splitting the plant, I kept two big clumps for my garden and I ended up with so many babies. Now I need to find home for them.
