It's a good year so far for the plants. Our mail-box garden is producing lots of strawberries. It's a battle between my wife and the chipmunks on who gets them. And the Yuccas are going to bloom this year!!

Blooming today outside my kitchen window! Bedroom as well. It's a lilac variety named 'Miss Kim' that was supposed to be a dwarf - nope! It's 16 years old and 14 feet tall. Intensely fragrant. Blooms just after my standard lilac fades.

One of my weigelas is blooming! This one was in the shade until recently, it's a bit leggy, but should fill out with the tree gone. Variegated leaves and lovely colored blooms.

The Red Sea parted on our morning walk today. Oh wait! It's just the frothy lace caps of cow parsley in a Suffolk field. Who needs fairy stories?

Happy Memorial Day Weekend to those in the US. I'm in So Cal. I will be doing a lot of gardening this weekend, and I always take advantage of this sale. Lowe's and Home Depot both have mulch 5 bags for $10. Happy gardening.
