While in Cyprus this week I found that a lot of gardens had Bougainvillea in flower. It is a favourite, though it would not grow here in the UK. But it is so colourful and it lasts so long, perhaps because most of the colour comes from the coloured ...

We are lucky here in the UK, in that the climate means that we can grow and naturalize Snowdrops, ( Galanthus ). Just coming through now, like an early promise of spring in mid winter.

Canna lilies started from seed. Took awhile to sprout. I may have planted them too deeply. I'm hoping I can transplant these, first into larger pots, then into the garden after Mother's Day.

My annual attempt to grow venus flytraps, failed again after 5 months, and my amaryllis that I have had to divided every 5 years for the last 30 that I've been here. Sometimes I fail, sometimes I get lucky.

Moon flowers, or loco weed. The plant that nearly stopped westward expansion in Texas. They are very drought tolerant, produce huge fragrant blooms, I've had over 300 bloom at one time on one plant and hallucinogenic.
