- They were technically not flame-throwers. They were technically roofing heat guns. He actually had to write on the outside of the packaging "not a flamethrower" in order to be able to ship them.
- Elon did it as a lark to raise money for the "boring company" and sold all 10,000 of them out in days...at a hefty $500 each (which Musk said was almost all profit).
