Yeah my Vet thinks that way about cats so when I take mine down for a blood draw for his diabetes I have to hold him myself or he chases her around the place....

Why would they further traumatize the cat?
i thought the comment was more about aloofness than avoidance ... I've always gotten along well with cats.
@scurry They think of all animals as dumb and don't realize that they have unique personalities... Dogs somewhat but cats take it to extremes...
@Philip21 Yes but to do that you have to accept a cat as a unique individual who demands respect.... Not just an animal.
@Lizard_of_Ahaz Why would someone become a vet or decide to work on that industry of they have such a low opinion of cats, or any animal!? 
@scurry How many doctors do you know lack empathy?... Most from what I can tell....
