Funny thing about quicksand is that you don't actually completely sink like they always lead you to believe in movies. You'd actually float in it at about chest height like you would water because it's more dense than you are.
Side note, I was walking in a creek once as a kid and sank up to my knees in one spot of sand when the rest of the water was about ankle height. That's the closest I've ever come to "quicksand".
