@OpposingOpposum With land being so precious now,cremation seems to be the only alternative. When my wife died 10 months ago,money was tight,they(the funeral homes) wanted about $4K for a normal funeral,my stepson and I donated her body to science,and received her ashes a month later,I've some in urn nearby.
@SukiSue I spread some where we lived for 14 years in Springfield Mo,gave some to her son,and I've got some here.This is my late wife,she was a letter carrier for 33 years in San Diego Ca.[agnostic.com]
