- It's a generational curse.
- It's Satan. Satan is always tempting god's people. If they remained steadfast and didn't deny god, then they will reap blessings in heaven.
- It is to make them (and their faith) stronger so they can minister to others.
- That's because god wants to bless them. Just look at Job.
- God works in mysterious ways. Who can know the mind of god?
These are all the ones I've personally been told.
Have I missed any other excuses?
