Another reason not to live up north.
We got some of the best natural lakes in the country, you can't throw a stone without hitting a lake and you can't deny loving autumn up here.. its perfect.
@mistymoon77 2 questions. One, What is a natural lake, I have heard tale of them, but I thought all lakes started at the dam and kind of pooled behind it? What is this autumn you speak of, there is an old tale here of trees that actually turn colors before their leaves fall off, but I have attributed that to old wives from the frozen frontier? all in good fun, I know that Minn has a lot to offer, the last time I flew into Minn/St Paul, it was warmer there than in Dallas in Feb. but the frozen lakes gave away that it was not always so.
@glennlab Natural vrs a manmade lake that some states have because they don't have the water resources available. Not all lakes here are connected or even close to any dams. There are a few but not many. My suggestion is go to a series on the Smithsonian Channel if you can and google MN Aerial America. You will be surprised to see what is all here and why some of us push through those brutal winters we have at times.
@mistymoon77 Texas has only one natural lake, all the rest are water projects, so I do appreciate your natural bounty. i grew up on a natural lake in La. and had no idea about Texas' lack of real water until long after I moved here. 5 years in Spokane Wa with -30 winters and snow from Dec to Mar broke me of wanting to experience winter again. I could change my mind under the right conditions.
