The logic fails here. WHY would a REAL god need to take forty days and nights to flood the Earth, why not just kill EVERYONE and start from scratch, where did all of he water recede to when the rain stopped? Why do we have sedimentary rock layers numbering in the THOUSANDS in the Grand Canyon and other places, if Earth is only about 6K years old? No facts, no logic, no truth.
Once I asked a Jesus freak about how he explained all of those layers in the rock, especially where you see them tilted at a 45 degree angle or more, and he couldn't tell me, he just fell silent. Another one said that he had never even thought about it before I had mentioned it to him! As I recall, near Antelope Valley, the freeway cuts through a ridge where in the rock layers you can see them bent around like a piece of striped candy! How is that explained away?

The flood was a very necessary step for God to take because he needed a rainbow to mark an agreement with people that he wouldn't do that again. Next time, they get burned.
