We who stay alive for another 20-30 years might see the end of seeing these creatures in the wild...the north pole might go completely ice-free in a few years...they'll be preserved in zoos and small, human-controlled "preserves" but we will rarely - if ever again - see them in this voracious state.

There are darn few people who say things like "Hell, let's run off to the Arctic Circle and see the polar bears." This time of year, I'm thinking running off to Cuba for the coffee.
I get stares when I tell people there are animals that ought to be extinct so I can stay at the top of the food chain. Polar bears will rip the door off a house. Tent campers stand no chance.
