Libertarian or republican, or one is the same as the other? I catch a lot of flack when I claim they are the same. The only difference is that the libertarians do a lot of talk, much like the democrats, at attempting to convince their supporters they're different.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I would say that Libertarians are definitely closer to the Republican side, but I think they are a bit different than today's Republicans. I think REAL Libertarians seem to be socially liberal and not care much about what people do in their bedrooms and they actually seem to promote small government. Other Republicans seem to talk the game, but like big government when it comes to things like preventing gay marriage or any legislation having to do with discriminating against the LGBTQ community, or with anything they oppose from the more liberal side. I think the Republican Party has a lot more uniformity in their ideals with the exception of at least the Libertarians in social matters. I'm sure we can dig deeper and analyze much more than what I just said, but that's my take on it just on the surface.
