U.S. agents raid genetic testing labs, charge 35 in Medicare fraud probe
U.S. federal agents raided genetic testing laboratories, and 35 people were criminally charged in four states in a crackdown on genetic testing fraud that officials said on Friday caused $2.1 billion in losses to federal healthcare insurance programs.
Reasons why our healthcare programs can't survive on private entities. Under a capitalist structure our government awards its crony corporatist companies our business, our lives, with cost and procedures to us at their discretion on one hand, on the other hand fraud runs rabid. When these entities work together to create our healthcare legislature we can only expect to be the losers. 2.1 billion goes a LONG way towards those who need help the most. But we're not worth abolishing a system that has proven itself to be criminal in all aspects time and time again.

Make someone afraid and you can get them to do anything. Fear of cancer (or any bodily disaster) is so ripe for snake oil salesmen. Yes some testing and such is good but clearly there are people who will abuse the system. The dollar amount is stunning!!
Makes me think about our military spending. There has to be a way to force accountability for the spending of tax payer dollars way before it reaches this level of fraud.
