Why is it that most people here are from the US?
DenoPenno comments on Sep 15, 2018:
I think this is because people in the USA are free to speak of their atheist views without fear of punishment. If the current American regime is allowed to continue that situation could change.

@genessa No, English is my base language but I do know bits and pieces of others. I believe that dreams are things and they tell us things sometimes too. My dreams seem to revolve around things that are on my mind but sometimes things get twisted a little. If our minds never fully sleep then our dreams must reflect desires and unfinished business. In my dreams I can fly but not always. If that happened in real life it would scare you to death! In dreams it is fun. Too bad that some of our religious ancestors confused this with being "in or out of the body" and made up stories that were put into books, then claimed your real life starts after you die.

NOTHING will justify what this cop has done, and nothing will get rid of the racial overtones of any investigation so far. Tell me something that may and you put yourself out on the limb that you seem to think I am on right now. Truth be known, I am not out on a limb. Investigation and arrest are coming too late and the story is still ever changing trying to find this mythical "justification" when there is none at all. Reverse the color of these people immediately and you would see that it is over before it began. Even so, Guyger is trapped. The irony is that she will likely get 10 years and not even serve all of that.

@redbai The handling of it was terrible. Race plays a part in this because the cop is white and some think it gives a "double white priviledge." Many will not admit to the first one. "The only defense I can remotely come up with is that she is a cop who has succumbed to the addiction of drugs to such an extent that her judgment was greatly impaired." Too much of a reach...facts not in evidence. There needs to be an investigation before such judgments are made.
DenoPenno replies on Sep 11, 2018:
What I offered here is a possible defense that her attorney might use. What else can you say? Maybe that she was insane. She is not only on the wrong floor for her apartment but Jean had a red door mat in front of his door. Did she also have a red doormat? How did it happen that once she enters the darkened room she did not turn on the lights? That is the first thing anyone does and the light switch is always close to the door. Yet, she was able to see a black man in the dark enough to know he was not following her "verbal commands." Something is very wrong here.

Funeral homes do not like me. When I die I am going to be cremated plain and simple. Death with dignity? There is no such thing. It's an invention of funeral homes to make more money.
DenoPenno replies on Aug 29, 2018:
@JackPedigo I see your point and both you and your wife are doing a noble thing. What I refer to is the horrible deaths that so many of us have in the end and funeral homes pushing their "death with dignity" thing by throwing a little more money at it. They bring god into the picture to justify all this. When the local funeral home found out I'm atheist the owner told me he didn't "have enough faith to be atheist." My mother did not have an easy death and it had no dignity.
