Lucy_Fehr comments on Oct 4, 2018:
It is best for the child if their parents can maintain a good relationship. My ex did a lot of things with the mother of his child. He also paid some of her bills on occasion. Would not have helped his daughter to be evicted from her home. No, it wasn't always easy to bear but then again I attended my ex-husbands 45th birthday party. I once ate a holiday dinner with them as well. Sometimes people object to ex's being friends because they think it looks bad. I personally would not want to date someone that would treat the mother of his child like shit.

Lucy_Fehr comments on Sep 28, 2018:
Ive been a member for nearly a year but have taken a few month hiatus a couple of times primarily because real life got too busy to sustain multiple hobbies and ag had the least amount of personal feelings invested in it. As time goes on, I open fewer posts and consequently respond to fewer because yeah, it does get boring having the same discussion repeatedly. I see some of the issues being discussed but also seem to have missed much of the drama I keep seeing references to. If I had more time, I would be chasing down the info out of curiosity but then again, "not my circus, not my monkeys" I will never fully jettison facebook due to family but am still hopeful that this site will become the primary someday.
What is the dumbest thing you've got pulled over for, got a ticket, or even arrested for?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Sep 26, 2018:
My brother was a known criminal in this little town for being a thief and my brother and I had never gotten along because he had always been a bad person since childhood. So the lifetime of being judged by his actions has always been a sore spot with me. When I see/hear people say someone is bad because a relative is, I will usually jump to the defense of that person because I know what that is like. In the days before cell phones, I was driving my husband's pickup while he had a friend's full of stuff because we were moving; I was in the rear. . Cops pulled me and said my brother had broken into a home and stolen things and they had reason to suspect I had the property. What was that reason I wonder? They took most of the shit out the pickup and found a wok still in the box. Yup, they claimed a wok was on the list of stolen goods and demanded I prove ownership. Believe it or not, I had the paperwork because I keep shit like that LOL They left all the shit on the side of the road and I was trying to reload it when my husband returned with the empty truck he had been driving. As I am rereading the above, I can see that I am still irritated over 30 years later.

As a child, were you forced to hug/kiss relatives or friends when you didn't want to?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Sep 25, 2018:
Yes I was forced to and no I did not force my children to. There was an incident at the store where an elderly kept trying to talk to my son who did not respond. She said something about rudeness and I immediately told her that my son had been taught not to talk to strangers and reminded her that she was a stranger. My youngest grandson has an aversion to hugging to me. Unsure if he is like that with everyone but my daughter in law tries to coax him into it but I always take his side. He is willing to fist bump so that is what we do.
Anyone else feel isolated?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Sep 24, 2018:
I've had one close friend for most of my life. That friendship had to end so now I find myself lonely for a pal all too often. One thing church has that we in less populated areas do not have is fellowship. I also have an insane schedule where I get up at 3am so am ready for bed when normal people are having dinner.
Men who never learned to cook

Children and Religion/Beliefs
Lucy_Fehr comments on Sep 23, 2018:
I never told my kids anything but I did not pretend to be religious either. I was an open critic of the bible however. I think my oldest will eventually be atheist based on some of the things she says such as "P may stop believing in god because she is into science" She kept leaving churches once they started up the anti homosexuality crap and calls herself a christian but will not attend the small minded churches around here. My grandchildren are aware of my lack of belief and since they've grown up knowing it, accept it. I know the oldest does not believe because evidence is lacking. He in turn influences his younger brother and the aforementioned youngest is a budding mad scientist They have occasionally gone to church when staying with friends or the other grandparents but do not seem to be buying into it.

What is an item you've inherited that you most treasure?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Sep 19, 2018:
A cedar chest my grandmother had. It was her older sister's before her. Her sister was much older and she lived with her to help take care of her. I spent much time with them as a young child and loved that chest. I once ran away by hiding in it. I did not have a stellar childhood when I was older but those times with them are among the happiest in my memory and that chest is a representation of that time. The chest was put in a shed outside after my grandmother moved to Fl and was the only thing left on the slab after hurricane David. My grandmother gave me the chest when I was out on my own and has been near me most of the time ever since I had an illness 10 years ago and lost nearly everything except my truck, my dog and what I could fit in a small storage unit. All my photographs and personal mementos went into that chest and I paid to store it off and on for a couple of years while I rented a room in other people's homes. I only share my previous travails to illustrate how determined I am and was to keep that chest It currently sits at the foot of my bed and contains chrismas decorations I deem too fragile to store in the garage.
How many of you live near national monuments or landmarks yet haven't visited them?
Lucy_Fehr comments on Sep 19, 2018:
Not really a monument but I am embarrassed to admit I live 5 hours from Key West and have never been. Lived here since I was 12 in 1975. I drove 7 hours to South Carolina a couple months ago, took a cruise to Alaska a couple of weeks ago, been to the Caribbean a couple of times but have never been further south than Miami
I am 48.
Lucy_Fehr comments on Sep 19, 2018:
I am not hopeful about being in a relationship when I live in a conservative, uneducated, Trump loving corridor of churches. There is a church near every school, more than one on nearly every street and the few single men I have met want to change me into their idea of a traditional lady but pay my own way. I am paying my own way and having shit my own way as well. I do not know any other non believers near my age of any gender. Added to the above problems is that I am related to people of color and will not tolerate that racist bullshit my area is so fond of. I get up at 3am for work so go to bed too early to socialize. Sometimes I think I may be lonely for adult companionship as I spend my off hours with my grandkids since they live here but even they are outgrowing me. It is true that I am more intolerant of things I accepted when I was young but I spent a lot of years just being alive rather than living. At least I respect myself now.

I also just unfollow anyone that shares too much of anything annoying. As for seeing your posts on other sites the answer is possibly. If someone googled you they could potentially see a post you made on an unrelated site. If facebook should at some time in the future become affiliated with or absorb those other sites, your previous comments could become visible. I personally find this extremely unlikely to happen since your posts would quickly be buried beneath new ones but the possibility does exist. Posts you make on facebook in groups or on pages CAN be seen by your friends and no way to tell which ones will be featured on their feed. At this time your posts in closed groups are safe unless your friends are in the same group.

He was my idol for all my childhood and much of my adulthood for that matter.

Lucy_Fehr comments on Jun 27, 2018:
I think my dating age rule is keeping me from dating LOL I was 17 when my daughter was born. She tends to date older. I pass for at least 10 years younger than I am so I get hit on by men the same age my daughter dates. Ew. This came up in conversation with my daughter recently and she informed me that I could go for it now since she has decided to stick to near her own age now.

Years ago I had an illness and didnt work for a while. Loss of income coupled with medical treatment and a couple of bad decisions and I end up losing my home. I became a roommate which was devastating emotionally. At first. I had to leave behind all my beautiful furniture because I had no help to move it. My stuff that I could carry was in storage for years and I realized that it was not worth what it was costing to keep it so I got rid of anything that wasn't unique. FF a few more years and I buy a house. I had a bed, a tv that had been a gift, and beach chairs. Ive had this house several years and I still live small. Most of my walk in closet is filled with the things I kept from storage; memories and such.

Holy shit! I saw this yesterday and wondered why you posted such an inane remark. Today I get it. Damn
Any experiences with Chantix?

When I took it years ago, it caused dreams so vivid that I thought they were memories. Mundane activities and work related for the most part but it began affecting work when I was certain something had been done or said that had not been. Fortunately, the 2 weeks I took it was enough for me to white knuckle it the rest of the way. Coming up on 12 years.
Working in the service industry is horrible.

I get yelled at and called a liar a lot. It's not the young people either. It's middle aged and up. What irritates me the most is the ones who clearly think they are better than me- will maintain eye contact and smirk when I greet them but make a point of not responding.
Would you kiss again the last person you kissed?
