My dogs add so much pleasure that since I first owned my first home I have never been without at least two dogs. We are currently on 14 &15. I am holding my 61/2 lb dog as I type as she just loves to sit on my lap.We have some great discussions and she is very wise.Their welcome when we come home after being away just makes my heart beat faster. They are always happy.

I would have changed everything they did in rasing me. No church,i would have had them say they loved me and were proud of me instead of that's the best you can do and strict strict rules ETC. It was an empty home difficult to say I missed anything about it. Yes I changed the way I brought up my family and they really turned out great. We are very close as are my grandchildren. This is a difficult question to answer. As a child I was introduced to the church as are many others. This religious idea was then implanted on me and I feel I was lucky to reject the teaching but many others are not so lucky. I could feel sorry for these individuals but then with their education I no longer feel sorry. They should be able to see the wrongs with religion. Government is another area . My friend has been a republican not because he believes or even understands what the republicans stand for but becuse that is what his parents are. My mother was diabetic and the disease made her a mean person who needed help that she never received. I learned to avoid her and to work around her whims and this taught me many different skills that I would have never learned otherwise. This helped me a great deal during my employment and working for people who I dispised. It was very difficult growing up but I managed to make the best of it as a result. As a result I was determined never to be a parent like my family. We had the catholic education and all the rules along with it plus an extended family that was almost a sect by itself 10 aunts and uncles with so many cousins I never knew their names. Everyone was always praying or going to church for someone or for something. The religion they ushered upon the family was overbearing. This was very difficult for me because I was already doubting the faith. The end result for me was that I became very liberal shunning the strict rules and organization the church presented.

The challenges we experience are many as you state but so many of them are entrined like the environment and animal rescue cannot be separated. Therefore , it appears that we must focus broadly in order to achieve something that should be simple. With all the areas that need attention it is easy to become frustrated and almost want to give up. However it is people that care that rise above the crowd persist in their endeavors and hopefully achieve their goal.

Very strict mother. So strict I never invited anyone to play at my home because I never knew what might set her off. As a result I became very independent and self suffient. While growing up I repaired my own clothes on the sewing machine,ironed my own clothes and of course washed them. All this was very helpful in the Marines where it seemed no one could do anything. I made more money per month helping these guys out than I got in pay. It made for a very nice engagement ring for my wife.
