There are so many things wrong with that statement I do not know where to begin

Most likely his intent to allude to said story. Neither he nor the idiots listening understand the Jesus stories. Jesus never pushed for an anti government movement. Jesus stories were aimed, originally, at a religious change in power at the religious level.
