Finches are already building nets. We hung an additional gourd-house in one of our pear trees. Great view of it out the kitchen window.

Just a look round a young mans garden, and what gardening can do for you. It also a warm tropical style of garden in the summer, so something for those in the north at this time of year. Enjoy.

Its the hight of the tree blossom season here now. The apple blossom is especially good this year nearly making the branches droop with the weight. The Acer is not bad either.

My triumphant trumpet vine is quite vibrant this year. This is the first trumpet vine I've had so was unaware of all the lovely permutations the flowers go through. The large pods were a surprise too.

Its been such an exceptionally warm Autumn this year, that my Alstromaria, Peruvian Lilies, are making new flowers. Yet the gold in the background is the Autumn colour on the Ginkgo tree. The Hollyhocks too are still in flower.

More wildflowers. This is the wild Field Asphodel, photographed growing wild in Portugal. It is perhaps the commonest wild flower of all around the Mediterranean, yet for all that it is common it is still lovely. Does anyone grow it as a garden ...

I'm wildly enthusing over my veg patch, hope not too boring! Today managed to put up a shade tunnel about 6'x25', using only what I had on the property. I will have to buy more shade cloth for the mid summer, but still. I now have 3 rows planted, ...

I pulled up a couple little carrots 4 weeks ago and have to admit they were bland. I am inexperienced with carrots, not sure if the soil was nutrient-poor or what. Turns out they were just immature. Pulled these babies a few minutes ago, and Oh! ...

Attached is a picture of my tomato plants today. They grew to almost 10 feet tall then fell over and formed a canopy between the rows. The tallest now are still between 8 and 9 feet tall.

Grown under the cover of some row cover to protect it from the frost that is still a regular threat until the end of May, sweet asparagus spears plucked fresh from the garden and made into a cheese and asparagus omelette.

My little garden is pretty happy this year, along with the trumpet vine! One of the hummers was hovering around me just after this photo, I think wanting me to leave his blossoms. The raggy ground nearby will soon be a woodchip pathway. The leaf ...
