Can anyone tell me what kind of flower this is. I planted a Pak of wildflower seeds and all that came up was six of these.

My soft pink Oriental lilies are blooming and oh yes I picked the first two and brought them in ... but might have to park them on balcony tonight as their fragrance is heady :-)

If you could snap your fingers and get any project instantly done in your garden, food forest or homestead what would it be?

Its quite cold here now with a strong wind, so I spent an hour this morning hand weeding pots in the greenhouse. Its mainly Hairy Bittercress, Cardamine hirsuta. What I wanted to know is, is this little menace the same problem in the US and Australia...

Planning the garden Last season, I missed out on ordering red currants and gooseberry bushes. I had no idea that they are so hard ro get here in the US. They were the fruit of my childhood, and i spent many happy times picking and eating currants....

First transplant of Canna & Calla lilies from seed. I was surprised at the depth the roots had grown to.

We went to a really nice little Homestead and Ag show. Had some great venders and Work Shops. I hope they do more of them.

I built an impromptu fire pit today and burned a lot of the brush in my garden left over from last year. It all went well and the kids had fun helping. Then we sat and enjoyed the heat because is still pretty cold here. I found myself really wishing ...

Raini's tree is beginning to bloom (actually it is a decorative plum but it holds a special place...). And my roses are leafing up! Spring is coming!
