They don't go back empty. Check your "facts".

@Snickers77 I refute it with this:

China is currently our largest goods trading partner with goods exports totaled $115.6 billion
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. exports of goods and services to China supported an estimated 911,000 jobs in 2015 (latest data available) (601,000 supported by goods exports and 309,000 supported by services exports).

You can't do $115 billion in sales with all the ships going to China being empty. If all the ships were empty, we'd have an additional 911 thousand unemployed.

No. It is neither ill-informed nor is it insulting. I'm all for and support unions but the fact that one item costs more than another is the only factor when an average to poor American goes shopping when as you point out correctly our wages have been intentionally kept down by corporations whose only mission is profit is insurmountable for us no matter how much we appreciate all the good the unions have done for us. When all the stuff on that ship was made here we were way better off.

If we made decent money we could afford the good union made american stuff, & it would probably be better quality & last longer. It seems like a downward spiral, where we make less & less money & are forced to buy cheaper junk, then more good paying US jobs are lost because we can't afford to buy the products.
