I was in the USAF from 1966-1974,when based at Howard AFB Canal Zone,the UH-1N's came with shipping skids,to install the operational skids,a crane was used to pickup the Helicopter and install the correct skid.

Cool! I was stationed at Marine Air Base New River, NC for awhile. It's a helicopter base. But I was basic support. CH-53 Sea Stallions and Ch-46s. A few Hueys. A Cobra came through every once in awhile.
Badass! We had the 50 cal. door gunner
Geez, I can only assume the rest of the copter has been equally maintained... I would jump out whilst still near the ground.
