The rich live in neighborhoods and developments where crime is low, therefore they really don't need guns for protection.
Very true. My dad has been retired now for a number of years. His business partner is even older than him (maybe 80 or so). He claimed that when he was young he remembers plowing fields with horses. This guy is a bullshitter, but I think he was telling the truth on this one.
