I don't think much can be done until countries like Indonesia do something about their waste disposal. They're only the 19th dirtiest.

We need to get serious and to get tough about the way we use plastic. To get way more efficient as far as the triple-R goes (reduce, reuse, recycle) and to make sure that no plastic goes to waste.

Over 200 different pesticides/pollutants have been found in placenta blood/newborn infants.

Ewwwww! I've been thinking about sea salt too! Is there plastic in that too?

MojoDave Level 9 June 16, 2019

Good question

@Zoohome For the past 2 years the only salt I've seen recommended by chefs is Himalayan Pink Salt. The sea salt we get probably has some plastic in it, but the regular salt we get just comes from salt mines, no plastic. Maybe Kosher would be cleanest.

Good reason to go vegetarian or vegan. Our animals and ocean life are incredibly toxic and full of drugs and chemicals.

I am also full of drugs and chemicals.🙂

I wouldn't go that far (specially vegan, I'm big time omnivore), but we can do our part and respect the environment and other animals

I'm a card-carrying carnivore!

Vegans/vegetarians aren't immune to harm. Maybe they're not ingesting plastic, but there are pesticides, lead, and many other harmful chemicals in the water that food is being grown with. Many states are finding huge amounts of polyfluoroalkyl, or PFAS, in their water. [newrepublic.com]

Yes, plastic is a huge problem, but it's not the only problem.
