Most non-birders won’t get this...

I have been trying to identify this bird for longer than I want to admit. Anybody familiar? White Mountains of Arizona.

Varied Thrush, one of my favorite birds, I find woodland hues have a elegant subtlety more handsome than the gaudy displays of peacocks and parrots. Cedar Waxwings and Northern Flickers are other excellent examples.

An image I took many years ago at my cottage. It is a Heron ready to take flight.

The first 9 chicks have hatched, dried, and are now in a brooding box. They're so cute! Two more have just hatched but are too wet to leave the incubator. And the first turkey poult pipping out now.

Just got a phone call about a large owl, hit by a car. On my way to check it out....
