Little fuzzy butts working hard. Nice crop of lavender, the oil is best after they've moved on and the blossoms are drier. I still have three pints of oil from last year but it seems a shame to waste it. Still have some blackberries in my freezer ...

Syrphid Fly larva, or Hover Fly. Gardeners' Buddy. Eats lots and lots of aphids. Holds them up and chugs down their juices. Yummy!

The Acanthus are coming to the end of their flowering now. The one I grow is Acanthus spinosus, it is very spiny, even the flowers are untouchable, but the thistle like leaves are spectacular. It is of course one of the most celebrated of all plants ...

Japanese Herb Garden - I enjoy cooking Asian style foods, so I grow a lot of basil (several varieties), and peppers in the spring. I am slowly gonna add other things. This year I want to grow green onions also. Anyone else grow similar stuff?

This is an exciting time, we are looking for a farm to buy in GA near Atlanta. Cannot wait to get going with the planting. This will be a Hobby Farm. We are thinking large vegetable patch, greenhouse and a few animals.... 10-20 acres would be nice!
