My single Japanese eggplant is still producing, but I'm getting a little tired of it, so I may pull the plant. This will get cooked with Italian sausage, peppers and mushrooms in a marinara sauce for freezer meals.

Each year a Christmas tree goes to the village, for display in the square. I excuse myself giving it, on the grounds that, it clears space in the garden, the logs can be burned and it is a Yule Tree celebrating the winter solstice not a xmas tree, ...

Viburnum X bodnantense is perhaps the best winter flower there is, nearly all though the winter it make these small but very highly scented flowers. If brought in to the house, even one small branch will fill the room with a hyacinth perfume.

The Winter Aconites, Eranthus hyemalis, are out with us now, they are no relative of the true Aconites, its a very silly name. They flower despite hard frosts and snow and can carpet huge areas.

This is what I'm talkin' about! Mid February, and the plants were all budding out like April, yet now we have a couple weeks of morning frost. Loving the gorgeous sunshine that will let me mow the lawn before the next rain storm!
