My favorite bird in Montana: the billed magpie.

Canada geese... I'm pretty much obsessed with waterfowl.

A sad sight today - this beautiful buzzard, dead and tangled in a thorny tree. There are cables running over the tree, it probably hit them and I hope it died quickly. :-(

I saw my first, lifer, red-headed woodpecker a few weeks ago. Thursday, I was fortunate enough to see three more at the same location (but I was only able to photograph two of them).

Some choughs in the bushlands of Central Victoria (Australia), they live in social groupings and have what I k is an amazing vocabulary.
