A family of Canada Geese joined me while fly fishing the Arkansas River this weekend. I have been watching this gaggle over the last few weeks and the goslings are really getting big! Holding their heads in the tall grass.

Good morning! Here is a picture of my Daisy Citron Cockatoo on the outside of the house looking in. :-)

I have a lot of these visit my backyard and birdbath. I also have plenty of chickadees, finches, blue jays, and unfortunately CROWS.

A young robin that a vet in Harrisburg sent to me. She did a great job raising it so far, but doesn't think she can supply enough live food to prepare this guy for life in the wild. It's in great health though a little too tame.

After a harrowing couple of days, the turkey eggs have FINALLY hatched. The poults started pipping Sunday, but didn't actually hatch until Wednesday. Of the 12 eggs I started, 9 hatched. One poult has badly splayed legs, and may have to be ...

I encountered the largest flock of wood ducks I've even seen, today. Twenty-eight birds hanging around a drainage pond. They are so beautiful!!

Mrs. Woodduck was here this morning investigating various cavities for a possible nest. Always a bit startling to see a duck walking around in my 150 year old Burr Oaks.
