Alcohol free 28 years, dope free 18 years, tobacco free 4 years. Gained 145 lbs, lost 45lbs. I was a high functioning addict. Always went to work, paid my bills etc. Health is a struggle. Now I don't sleep. Anyone else from getting and staying clean?...

Instead of using the word "spirituality" I have been using the word "emotionality". I think the word spirituality has too much religious baggage and besides, emotionality still describes a wonderful emotional experience that you can have in recovery....

I have been in a twelve-step program for about 4 months, but am just now trying to actively work the steps. Working Step One was really helpful to me, but I am so stuck on Step Two and the higher power crap. Any advice?
