I’ve had the same experience, the falling dreams aren’t very pleasant.
@Zealandia a long time ago I read a hypothesis that it is a genetic memory from sleeping in trees to avoid predators.
@Zealandia There again it could be premonition or simply subconscious conclusion of the result of current actions - frequently "poking the tiger in the ribs"!
