My Mum uses a shortbread recipe that she picked up in a magazine before I was born. She baked some last week. Store bought biscuits just don’t compare.

@Zealandia Oh I can't stand store bought shortbread! I've used the recipe that was around since before I was born. Took it from mother's recipe book when I was getting married.

@Lilac-JadeCanada I’m definitely going to copy down Mum’s recipe. I don’t think store bought shortbread uses butter anyway. Probably palm oil…. Mum sometimes sprinkles carroway seeds on, that’s her little customisation.

She’s got an awesome caramel slice recipe as well.

@Zealandia Well I add on little touches once in awhile, but it ain't shortbread if butter isn't in it.
