New Zealand is one of the remotest countries in the world.

In fact, on average, we have about three remotes per household.

Shared out with the family…..it’s the single people who struggle.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Yep, put your best foot forward on that one….luckily the remote is digit al.

@Zealandia Yes, the inventor must have had fingers & toes in mind.

Then I'd guess Hawaii is the most "slippery" state in the U.S. Most of us own several pairs of slippers haha! I've got some for everyday, some for the beach, some for dancing, some for elegant dresses, even thick soled slippers for running through rain puddles. 😉

Yeah, kiwis wear those too, they’re called jandals.

The name Jandal was created from a combination of the words Japanese and sandal.

I used to drive in mine when I was younger.

BTW, the secondary school I attended is called “Takapuna” the name originates from Haiwaiki.

Here’s a NZ pair of jandals….

@Zealandia English "flip-flops", Australian "thongs".

@Zealandia good for thrashing recalcitrant backsides, preventing bunions & ingrowing toes, not much good for ankle support on rocky ground or parachute landing and IMO f.all useless for hurdling, long & high jumping.
Very useful \ even necessary for Australians who cannot learn how to tie their shoelaces!
I believe the yanks used them in their prisons to stop the inmates preventing their torture by hanging themselves with the laces.

@FrayedBear Plus essential footwear for those kiwis who have never been able to learn how to tie a shoelace either!
I had a chunky version in my younger days, lasted for years.

@Zealandia I once saw a pair that a parsimonious English chemist origined Australian had added car tyre tread to to make last longer.

@FrayedBear As a teenager, I recall handmade leather sandals being sold that had car tyre tread soles. I puzzled over how the tyre treads were flattened out for the sandals though.
