Yes, my friend experienced the Christchurch earthquake. Not a pleasant experience at all.
I lived right on the Wellington fault in the suburb of Thorndon years ago, the micro quakes used to literally jolt me awake sometimes. The primal energy of the shocks were always disturbing. .
@Zealandia apart from the Newcastle NSW quake I've been fortunate not to experience any.
