Yes, the misogynistic comments on social media questioning the Captain’s ability and cheap shots about DEI hiring have been appalling.
Yvonne Gray worked in the British plus kiwi navy for thirty years. She’s clearly not lacking in experience.
It’s fortunate that everyone onboard got off safely.
There’s a good article here taking an objective view of the possible causes of the sinking and remit of the Court of Inquiry that’s been set up.

Have to say that sinking a naval ship in peacetime is embarrassing for New Zealand. Last time it occurred was over 80 years ago.
It will be interesting to see what the outcome of the Court of Inquiry will be.
