I read a book about Stockholm syndrome. I hated it to start with, I thought the book was rubbish, but by the end of I had started to change my mind
If I remember correctly , the basic concept is , when taken hostage , over time , the victims , begin to sympathize with their captors . Patty Hearst being a prime example . Initially , I believe , it's a manner in which the captives are simply trying to stay alive and healthy , but over time , becomes a true thing .
It's also commonly used as an explanation why abused spouses don't seek help.
