@triumph56 Very much so matey!! lots of respect - First thing I did today was try to find that persons account to explain to them my POV.. It's me making the effort to find peace and closure FOR THEM lol. I will always go the extra mile to resolve anyg. No point breag otherwise. As you say we are all stuck on this rock together in space and if we can't agree to respect each other initially for things we cannot understand or mess with our beliefs we have no chance of finding any real understanding of each other. Fortunately I was bought up to believe the way you treat each other is the most important thing in life!! So I am grateful for it .. and grateful I can stay calm enough not to get too into it !!

I once was cooking a monster pig leg chop in a youth hostel community kitchen. I suddenly felt the hairs on the back of my head lifting - yes I had hair nearly to my waist back then. Turning I found a grossly fat young woman 20-30 years younger glaring at me. She vitriolically spat out "I'm a vegetarian" though what she had in the frypan I couldn't tell. I simply told her "very nice for you please enjoy it and let me enjoy my pig leg" and turned my back on her making it obvious I wanted no further conversation.
Sounds like you got a typical "open my mouth and speak before I've properly thought it through woman. She was probably mind reading you as well.

I too apparently require the animalform of protein to function optimally. I have tried the vegie only route. I ache, do not feel well and dream of beef. I have never been accosted and would never dream of denigrating another's choice to not eat meat.
We are not all cut from the small ball of dough () but we can all respect each others choices.

@silverotter11 Respect is key in everything....I lived amicably with a vegetarian for 22 years and for most of that I was also vegetarian 80% of the time .Just easier.
Luckily ,she was a realist and when I would crave meat or fish ( normally in the colder months ) not only would she tolerate it she would also cook for me -however I cooked for both of us most of the time.
Vegetarian is fine if you really like food and are blessed with an imagination and a kudos for knowing what works in the kitchen and cook from the heart.
