True story: I was on a guided nature walk back in the late 80's when someone mentioned a story that had been in the news about (IIRC) cattle being shipped from the Soviet Union to the U.S. as some sort of scientific/agricultural exchange. To avoid shipping actual cattle, they implanted cattle embryos into rabbits (much easier to ship), and then transferred them into U.S. cows to complete their development here. On hearing this, without missing a beat, one of the other people in the group said, "I guess that was the herd shot 'round the world." Much groaning ensued, of course, but I was duly impressed.
this should not have been posted in jokes its actually really cool
Huh, I hadn't thought of it that way. More than 30 years later, I feel like I was present at the birth of a cheesy joke. Now I'm trying to think where else I might have posted it...
Some are very quick on the comebacks. I'm not one of them.
Nor am I!
