If you're towing a speedboat...
...are you pulling a fast one?
Not with the engine out of commission & needing the towing.
When I was young, my brothers raced boats, so we often towed 2-3 "speedboats" on our trailer behind our car. We generally drove faster than the boats would normally go during a race, so that answer is "no" from my point of view.
Yeah, boats actually travel relatively slow across water compared to cars.
If you’re sailing one of the Americas Cup’s foiling monohulls, the yachts were maxing out at over 50 knots (99 kph) or 60mph.
It’s a pity that the kiwi Team Emirates crew decided to hold the race in the Northern Hemisphere. NZ government offered a fair amount of money to support the infrastructure around the holding of the race in Auckland, unfortunately Barcelona had deeper pockets
Doesnt matter whether it's fast or slow, it's a hole in your pocket.
Yeah, messing around with boats can be a pretty expensive hobby, especially if you don’t look after them.
Know someone in the boating trade, costs nz 15k plus to replace a fibreglass hull if it is failing.
BTW, I sent you a message to see if the service is still working.
@Zealandia What's that for- a six foot long dinghy hull. A lifetime ago I was a volunteer licensed radio operator in the NSW Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol. All the boats were privately owned & in our patrol there was a very mixed bag of boats.
@Zealandia last message from you is 15 December!
@Zealandia and it was reluctant to let me into messaging.
@FrayedBear
The boat was a Fibreglass 9.15 m 30ft yacht.
Messaging deleted my text. Have tried again.
@Zealandia Cost sounds reasonable.
@Zealandia Still nothing come through on messages.
@FrayedBear Update. The messaging service is still deleting any messages that I send you.
At least I don’t have to engage with the suspect woman who claims to live in San Francisco. Her responses indicate a scam.
Yes, seems pretty reasonable for the work to the boat, however it was purchased for 20 think a few years ago so had to be offloaded on TradeMe for a pittance. Around 2k.
@Zealandia buyer beware.
@Zealandia laser pointers are fascinating, & hated by dodgy vendors, for identifying keels that have developed bends.
@FrayedBear Interesting, didn’t know that. More useful than shining them into pilot’s eyes.
The water blasting to take off the barnacles from the hull ripped big holes in the skin.
@Zealandia fibreglass rots with age.
@FrayedBear Yeah, exactly. It became apparent that the water blasting damage wouldn’t have happened with a fibreglass hull in good condition. Hence selling the boat for a pittance on TradeMe.
The messaging is still deleting my test messages to you.
