How do you identify a bald eagle?
All his feathers are combed over to one side.
The good old comb over. I don’t see them so much now.
I still see it here a lot, & it looks ridiculous. My son started losing his hair very young, & now he just shaves the rest of it off....He looks tidy, clean, & neat.
@Lilac-JadeCanada Agree, the combover is a style disaster. Especially when it’s windy.
Shaving it all off is perfectly acceptable, many follically challenged people do it now.
My hair is receding, ah well it was good whilst it lasted. I just give it a once over with hair clippers when it gets a bit longer.
@Zealandia My son started losing his hair when he reached puberty.
@Lilac-JadeCanada Wow, that’s young.
@Zealandia Yeah, he was 14 when he began the hair loss. He's my youngest son, & my eldest son hasn't lost a one.....go figure....
@Lilac-JadeCanada Hopefully that doesn’t cause any issues.
Some people are really sensitive about it. I remember a friend kidding a mutual acquaintance about his thinning hair on top, he threatened to deck him if he mentioned it again. This was someone who was usually pretty easy going. I think he paid a lot of money for some sort of hair replacement, I found that out second hand…..
When I was in Melbourne, I saw a teenager with patches of hair loss out with a friend, thought good on her for having the courage to do that and not hide the condition.
@Lilac-JadeCanada Aw, nice! Thanks for the picture.
@Zealandia My kids....don't know why the shadows make it look like Chadd has some dark hair there....he doesn't, not to mention he's a blonde & not dark either.
@Zealandia Chadd is fine with it. He's always been the easy going, fun kid, & losing his hair was just the way is was. Steven on the other hand is the total opposite, short tempered, & not exactly the most pleasant person to be around.
@Lilac-JadeCanada Interesting how people’s personalities pan out.
I visited a friend in Tauranga recently, known him for a long time. He’s becoming rather grumpy like his Dad as he matures. I understand why he’s difficult at times, and make allowances for that so no worries.
@Zealandia Steven lives the furthest away from the rest of us so we seldom see him, as none of us travel the distances. As it is, Chadd is 3 hours north of me, & Aurora is 6 hours southeast of me. Steven is 27 hours away......two provinces over from BC.
@Lilac-JadeCanada Presumably 27 hours that’s driving time?
I have been to Canada, have distant relatives there. One of my relatives on my mother’s side was a war bride. She settled in Ontario. Near Windsor, I think.
@Zealandia Yes, that's driving time. I'm in British Columbia, my eldest son is in Saskatchewan, & Ontario is 2 more provinces over from him.
@Lilac-JadeCanada Ta for the map of Canada. A very long way to go.
It takes “only” thirty hours to drive the length of New Zealand. I’ve realised that there’s a lot of scenery packed into a relatively small area.
@Zealandia We have great scenery here in BC too, from the Pacific Ocean, to the Rocky Mountains, to lakes, rivers, forests, wildlife, as well as smaller mountain ranges too.
