''For awhile I lived in a small town where were no numbers on the houses.''

''Didn't that make it difficult to locate a specific house?''

''Yeah, until the town decided to address the issue.''

Did the proposal have the residents’ stamp of approval?

@Lilac-JadeCanada The two of you play off of each other so well. 🙂

@Lilac-JadeCanada I met someone who lived in a remote Welsh area where all the houses had names. She told me that inputting the address and getting stuff delivered using online shopping was a nightmare.

@Lilac-JadeCanada The GPS system must have conniptions with an arrangement like that.

My NavMan GPS is pretty good, however I have to input a specific street address and number. It won’t accept anything a bit vague like “Paraparaumu Beach.”

I could use a phone, but that chews up expensive data charges.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Hmmm, wildlife. Do you mean humans or the other kind?

Fortunately there’s nothing dangerous here, only the humans! You know there’s no snakes?

Yes, GPS always works, even in remote areas without any mobile phone signals.

Coverage in Canada must be an issue, it’s such a huge country.

A mobile phone company here is going to use SpaceX starlink satellites to improve coverage, rolling out the service later this year. Will guarantee a near 100% coverage for texting anywhere in the country.

At the moment, no traditional mobile network covers more than 50% of the country.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Far out, that kind of wildlife seems pretty dangerous to me. I suppose that other than bears, they leave you alone if you leave them alone.

Deer were introduced here and are wild but keep their distance as they’re regularly hunted.

There’s a kind of kiwi eagle that’s now extinct, but nothing bird wise that attacks other than maybe magpies.
