As a team-building exercise the St. Louis Cardinals went a cruise together. They had booked every stateroom on the promenade deck and all was set. But at the last minute four team members couldn't go, and cancelled their reservations.
In hopes of selling the remaining accommodations, the cruise line advertised, "We're A Few Cards Short Of A Full Deck."
