We’re right in the middle of the apple growing season here (Feb to May) here, so am keeping the doctor away daily. I can score the fruit at about Can$ 2.80 a kilo, which seems reasonable.
About 65% of the harvest is exported. It seemed that anything grown is sent overseas. At least food security isn’t an issue here. We feed 40 million people apparently.

I’m eating the Jazz variety this week.
