Bad news about that hostel fire.

Lax laws meant that a sprinkler system didn’t need to be retrofitted to an old building.
The dumb thing is that all retail spaces are required to have a sprinkler system, no matter the age of the building.
Hopefully it becomes an election issue.
There’s indications that it might have been arson, we’ll see.
