Actually, sometimes it’s the other way around.
I used to assess people who had gone through Educational Psychologist’s Reports. One guy I met came across as a blithering twit, (No offence meant to him personally) however his IQ was off the scale.
That experience made me aware not to make any assumptions when meeting people.

I too have learned from bitter experience as an employer that being intelligent, being wise and being knowledgeable can all be mutually exclusive.
People can be highly educated and still be completely unintelligent, wise and yet have almost no knowledge and both highly intelligent and knowledge but completely unable to function safely or efficiently because they totally lack the ability to apply it wisely.
When broadcasting I always applied the rule "never open your mouth until you have a sensible word in it".
