My mate Dave loved old farming memorabilia. He collected bits of ploughs, reaping machines and parts of early tractors. His wife Shirley tolerated this obsession because she loved him so but when she fell pregnant, enough was enough and she put her foot down. Daves collection would have to go, the room would be needed for the new baby. With heavy heart Dave placed adds in the reverlent magazines and sold a few of the choice pieces off but the rest ended up going for scrap. After the scrap man had loaded up his truck and given Dave the handful of notes. Shirley was sad to see her Dave so crestfallen but proud of him too because he had done the right thing. So she said " Dave why don't we cheer us both up and go for a meal and drink at the coach and horses. I hear the food there is really good and we can both celebrate our new life. " Reluctantly Dave agreed and they got dressed up and off they went.
The pub was packed with people drinking and smoking so much so that Shirley could not even enter. " I can't go in there Dave its too smokey. I have to think of the baby "
" Don`t worry Shirl I will sort it " and with that Dave stroud into the pub took in a huge breath and exhaled it outside. Miraculously the air inside was now clear and fresh. Shirley's love and admiration took on new depths and she asked in astonishment " How did you do that Dave? That was amazing "
Dave looked and Shirley completely nonplussed and replied " It was easy love. I am an ex-tractor fan "
