LenHazell53 replies on Feb 10, 2022:
@skado The original and ONLY meaning of Sin is the religious one, it is a purely religious word and one designed to make people feel guilty about perfectly natural things. ONE DESIGNED TO MAKE PEOPLE FRIGHTENED AND ASHAMED OF BEING NORMAL. One designed to make people think that they need SALVATION that can only be offered by the church. It is and always has been a tool of the church for the exploitation of the gullible and the hate filled. Sin does not exist because people need to worship god, gods exist because religious clergy *require* an all powerful all seeing and above all threatening authority to terrify people in to believing that sex is evil, sexual behaviour is evil, anger is evil, ambition is evil, freedom is evil and non conformity is evil and WILL BE PUNISHED ***FOREVER*** unless you blindly and unquestioningly submit to the church and show your contrition with cold hard cash and free labour. Religion was never about worshipping god, or about love, or grace. IT was always about money and power for the minority over the majority.

LenHazell53 replies on Feb 9, 2022:
Brad is the second counsellor in the Young Men general presidency. A couple of days ago (on Sunday) in an official fireside, in order to draw a parallel with the black Mormons having to wait for the priesthood until 1978, he complained that black people should be grateful that they only had to wait until 1955 to be allowed to sit at the front of the bus when white people had to wait for one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight years for the bus to be invented. He had a grovelling apology this morning, basically saying what he said is not what he said and he has been misunderstood. He made a similar public observation last year at the expense of his own daughter, about how women should be grateful for their role in the LDS and not harp on for the priesthood

LenHazell53 replies on Feb 8, 2022:
"Ubermensch," German literally over man, usually translated in to English as Super man. Though the most accurate depiction of the Ubermensch in literature is Kenneth Robeson's character "Doc" Savage, a human being who has reached his optimum potential. Popularised by Friedrich Nietzsche in his 1883 book Thus Spoke Zarathustra the Over Man is the ideal all people should aspire to. The Philosophy was corrupted by the German Nazi's during the Hitler era, thanks mainly to the sister of Friedrich Nietzsche who presented all of Friedrich's unpublished and the self rejected and edited out works to the German Nazi party for use in propaganda as @Triphid has pointed out above.

'But, says Man, the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and, by your own arguments, you don't. QED.' 'Oh dear,' says God, 'I hadn't thought of that,' and vanishes in a puff of logic. My favorite word like this is Scoff which for centuries meant to mock or to belittle but from the early 20th century also came to mean to eat with gusto after the rise in popularity of Georges Auguste E***scoff***ier, the French chef and cookery writer.
LenHazell53 replies on Jan 24, 2022:
@MsKathleen A scarf is an item of clothing, a strip of material, worn around the neck, the word is of Scandinavian origin meaning an off cut or piece. There is no other definition, certainly not as a verb in the Oxford or Cambridge dictionaries, the use of it as a verb meaning to to eat must be uniquely American resulting from an inability to pronounce Scoff properly ;) You are probably lucky your antecedents did not choose to pronounce it scurf, an unpleasant term for sloughed off dead skin.

Bishop Jenkins claimed most of the "magic tricks" performed by Christ were added in later to make the bible stories more entertaining. BY the time of his retirement, he had stopped short of declaring himself an atheist, but only just. He did however retain his position in the church and in the House of Lords, this in spite of the people of Tewkesbury blaming a catastrophic flood on his appointment and a fire at York Minster being the wrath of God because of his heresy.
