It is owned by the state of France but operated by the Vatican as such it is a state property and is in a condition known as self insurance.
No insurance company can be engaged as that would be public funds being filtered in to private business, under French law that is illegal, the government is expected to maintain their own properties.
The RC church is effectively a tenant, paying in kind with services (no pun intended) for accommodation, they insure their contents of the building but not the building itself.
Hence all the sudden attack of Virtue signalling from business, using the tax money they have fiddled in the past, to right off legitimately against next years tax demand as a charitable donation.

For example if I discover a new breed of cat from Japan and call it a Necohongo a pun and contraction on the words Nihongo and Neko meaning literally "japanese for cat" that is a Neologism.
If I call it a Mewmew that is not, that is just a onomatopoeic affectation.

However Josephus spends an entire chapter talking about John the Baptist as being hailed as the messiah and the Christians (the anointed ones) who are JOHN's followers. No where in any of his descriptions of the story of the Baptist does he ever mentions Jesus, let alone John being his herald.
John was an important socio political figure, a famous preacher and was reported on by Roman historians, Jewish historian and even Samaritan historians, something the Modern Christian (Jesus) church like to play down.

In Jewish tradition a sabbath's days journey is no more than a couple of hundred yards, Mount Percice is a mile and a half away from the edge of the city, so he would have to be dragged to the city edge, across open country and then they would have to climb it in order to throw him off it.

The Josh Brolin version does measure up reasonably well to the 2003 Korean version, but in all honesty neither version does justice to the sheer grotesqueries of the original graphic serialisation (it's not fair to class this story as simply a manga), mainly because Park Chan-wook altered so much in order to have it fit in with his thematic Vengeance trilogy.
Spike Lee's version, despite his protestations to the contrary is simply a remake of the Korean film, following its plot rather than the nuances of the original story.

The reality is that since 2015, several large software companies have refused to give the LDS discounts on their software licenses and invoiced them for the full amount at the renewal date of 2020.
The IRS suspecting cicaneray approached apple to ask them why this was and Apple told them the LDS no longer met their criteria for a humanitarian charity, because of the Nov 2015 policy change on the children of Homosexual couples.
The IRS checked this with other software companies and found that those who did supply the LDS had already withdrawn their discounts and those that didn't had already informed the LDS they would not offer them reduced licences on the grounds of their homophobic policies.
Apparently BYU students were desperately trying to develop their own alternate software before the current licences expire in 2020. but as yet were no where near doing so.

However the Fox reports are biased and twisted in a manner to inflame public anger and start a false moral panic, by making it appear that their may have been a racial bias to the original trial, there was not, the first trial was disallowed after a hung jury came about because of genuine concerns were raised of coercion and evidence tampering, these all proved after proper investigation to be unfounded, allowing for the second trial to convict, with no chance of appeal as the evidence was overwhelming.
However the fact that Lewis is seriously mentally unstable is not mentioned in the Fox article, his confessed motive being he killed Ms Vetrano, because his neighbors had been playing music too loudly and this had put him in a bad mood, or that he had twice previously been arrest for public nuisance for spying on neighbors.
So to go back to your original point, it is good a dangerous man has been arrested and taken off the streets and justice is done, but typical of Fox fear bating the reason SOME men do this is because they are criminally insane, with a history of disturbing behaviour and a need to feel empowered, not as Fox likes to promote because Black Men and men in general just do this sort of thing.

Whether the old bag is right or not about the current state of the UK government, is for the reasons I stated, irrelevant to me, I am capable of making my own judgements that may (no pun intended) coincide with hers on some points is purely coincidental.
British politicians have always been bloody minded, self serving and corrupt, it is a job requirement for ministerial office.
Unser usual circumstance there can be a consensus as to what will or will not happen, worked out well in advance, the current fiasco is the result of a number of unique circumstances.
Fist the country being split almost exactly in half between remainers and leavers, so what ever the government or parliament do they are going to enrage half the populous. A complete no win scenario.
Secondly The government and parliament while having to pay lip service to the "democracy" of the referendum, know Brexit is economic suicide and will cost them their backers if it goes through, and that No-Deal is a recipe for national bankruptcy. So they don't want it, not even the ardent Brexiteers like Grease Smog are playing the long game for their own ultimate financial benefit but could and would never actually deliver anything more than a pseudo Brexit in name only.
Thirdly this whole situation is the death Knell of the two party system and possibly of representative democracy. When this is all over no matter how it turns out, the whole system will be revamped to make sure it can never happen again, it will probably result in a much worse and more dictatorial system that concentrates more power in to far less hands.

That was the moment to say that the government would take the result under consideration, suddenly "Discover" the lies, criminality and dishonesty and postpone acting on the result while investigations went on, two years later they declare the referendum null and void and promise another referendum at some unspecified point in the future when it could be policed properly, and then let it fizzle out.
